Light heavyweight champion Billy Conn gave away 30 pounds and outboxed Joe Louis through 12 rounds at the Polo Grounds in June 1941, leading on two cards. Going for the knockout in the 13th, he walked into the punch of the decade and was counted out. Louis summed it up, he could run but he could not hide.
