Rumble in the Jungle
Ali knocked out Foreman in eight rounds in Kinshasa, October 30 1974
Overview
Staged at 4 AM before 60,000 in Zaire with a music festival attached, the Rumble saw Muhammad Ali lean back on the ropes and let George Foreman punch himself empty, the invention of rope a dope. An eighth round combination put the unbeaten champion down and out. Ali, 32 and written off, regained the title a full decade after first winning it.
