Muhammad Ali
Three time world heavyweight champion, 1960 Olympic gold, the most famous athlete of the 20th century
Overview
Born Cassius Clay in Louisville, he won gold in Rome at 18 and stunned Sonny Liston in 1964 to take the title at 22. Stripped in 1967 for refusing induction, he returned after three and a half years and rebuilt his legend through Frazier, Foreman in the Rumble in the Jungle, and Frazier again in Manila. He won the title a third time in 1978 and finished 56-5.
