Bob Foster
Light heavyweight champion with a lethal left hook, 1968 to 1974
Overview
Foster knocked out Dick Tiger at Madison Square Garden in 1968 to win the light heavyweight championship and defended it many times with a long jab and a feared left hook. Moving up in weight was less kind to him, as Joe Frazier knocked him out in 1970 and Muhammad Ali stopped him in 1972. Away from the ring he served for years as a sheriff deputy in New Mexico.
