At the Tokyo Dome on February 11 1990, James Buster Douglas, written off by every bookmaker, survived a round eight knockdown, rose, and knocked out the unbeaten champion Mike Tyson in round 10 with an uppercut. Tyson, 37-0, tasted his first defeat in the upset by which all boxing upsets are judged. Douglas lost the title in his first defense.
