Pernell Whitaker
Sweet Pea, four division champion and the defensive master of his generation
Overview
A 1984 Olympic gold medalist, Whitaker won titles from lightweight to light middleweight with a slippery southpaw genius that made champions miss for fun. He was unlucky in a 1993 draw with Julio Cesar Chavez many felt he won. He beat Azumah Nelson, Greg Haugen and Buddy McGirt, finishing 40-4-1, and died in 2019.
