Jeffries vs Johnson 1910
The Fight of the Century in Reno, Johnson knocked out Jeffries in 15
Overview
Unbeaten champion James Jeffries came off a six year retirement as the great white hope to face Jack Johnson, who had taken the title in 1908. Before 20,000 at Reno on July 4 1910, Johnson toyed with him and knocked him out in 15 rounds. Race riots across America followed, making it perhaps the most socially charged fight ever.
